Noordwest Hospital

Medexs built a completely new operating room complex for the Noordwest Hospital in Alkmaar.

Hospital Alkmaar (The Netherlands)

Medexs built a completely new operating room complex for Noordwest Hospital in Alkmaar as part of the large-scale renovation of the acute axis. Medexs was responsible for the construction of seven state-of-the-art operating rooms, including a hybrid operating room, and four preparation rooms.

To meet the highest operating room classification (class 1+) in the hybrid environment, the Opragon 21 ventilation system was chosen. The other operating rooms are equipped with the Opragon 8 ventilation system. This means the entire complex is equipped with the latest technologies in air quality and infection prevention.

Specifically, Medexs delivered the following:
• seven advanced operating rooms, including one hybrid operating room;
• implementation of the Opragon 21 system (hybrid operating room) and Opragon 8 systems (other operating rooms);
• four preparation rooms with cross-flow systems (horizontal airflow);
• HPL walls and ceilings.

This extensive project took two years to complete. The result is a modern and future-proof operating room complex that fully aligns with the ambitions of Noordwest Hospital Group and contributes to a safe and innovative healthcare environment.
