The modular construction, finishing, mechanical and electronic installations were carried out by Medexs. The operating rooms were built in accordance with FMS class 1+/performance level 1 and are equipped with a separate preparation area per operating room. The operating rooms are equipped with a 2-temperature plenum of 3.2 m x 3.4 m, corresponding to the Isala Meppel location. The preparation areas are equipped with a crossflow system, which offers optimum protection for preparing the required surgical instruments.

Extra rooms were added, such as a sterile storage area and a separate room for ICT, transformer cabinets and emergency power supplies. The central facilities (heat and cold, medical gases, water and food) were supplied from the main building, to which Medexs could connect. Unica, the in-house installer, was contracted for the piping of the supplied utilities, water mist installation and the measuring and control installation.
