Rotterdam, NetherlandsMedexs completely transformed a former office building on Lichtenauerlaan in Rotterdam into an ultra-modern eye clinic of 5,000 m² on behalf of Visus Eye Clinic.
The renovation, led by architect Fehmi Bilge and Medexs, resulted in a six-storey building with a futuristic and welcoming design. The patient journey has been optimised with separate floors for preliminary examination, treatment and recovery, which means the entire process takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. The clinic has four operating rooms of 30 m² each. Medexs installed an innovative air treatment system from Halton, including integrated UV lighting for night-time disinfection, resulting in a higher OR classification than prescribed by the Dutch FMS guidelines.
