Commissioned by Antonius Hospital Sneek, Medexs, in collaboration with SPIE, realized the construction of the new operating room complex and the central sterilization department (CSSD). The existing operating room complex had reached its end of life and made way for a modern, future-proof facility with five new class 1 operating rooms. In the new situation, the CSSD is located on the ground floor directly beneath the operating room complex, creating a highly functional and efficient workspace. After completion, the current operating room was connected to the new building, and the existing operating room complex was renovated.

With this project, Antonius took a major step towards modernizing, digitizing, and making healthcare more sustainable. The operating rooms were made more spacious and pleasantly furnished, LED lighting, an innovative air management system, and better waste separation were installed. Furthermore, smart connections between the scopic instruments and the digital patient file ensure even more efficient care processes. Together with Antonius, Medexs contributes to accessible, sustainable, and patient-focused healthcare in the region.
