Background information

Commissioned by UMCG Groningen, Medexs partnered with contracting firm Friso B.V. (Groningen branch) and Croonwolter & Dros to execute the construction of a compounding pharmacy with cleanroom in class B, C, D and E level. The cleanroom was built under GMP conditions.
With a gross floor area of 1,450 m2, the pharmacy was built on the second floor in a former office building on the UMCG site. In addition to the construction, the equipment was also part of this project. This concerned highly specialised medical equipment with even higher demands. Strict hygiene requirements were imposed during the renovation; dust was out of the question. HEPA filters, extraction, everything was thoroughly cleaned. Even the air was flushed so that there was no dust in the rooms.
