Laboratory Facility Dicoon

Elst

In Elst, we at Medexs, together with Dicoon and technical partner Unica, realized a new laboratory that brought together the medical microbiology and immunology, clinical chemistry and clinical pharmacy departments of Rijnstate, Gelderse Vallei Hospital (ZGV) and Canisius Wilhelmina Hospital (CWZ). The facility provided integrated diagnostics for the entire Midden and Zuid-Gelderland region.

As the construction consortium, we strongly focused on modular and circular building. Prefabricating the components reduced transport movements, lowered CO₂ emissions by approximately 50%, and ensured efficient use of materials. This sustainable, industrialized approach aligned perfectly with Dicoon’s ambition to deliver high-quality and affordable patient care.
The laboratory was completed in 2023.
