Jan van Goyen Medical Center has opened a new operating room complex. The project was completed in just nine months by Medexs.
On September 12, 2024, Jan van Goyen Medical Center opened a new operating room complex in the former Slotervaart Hospital in Amsterdam. With four modern operating rooms, the center doubles its capacity and can now take over more planned care from hospitals, in addition to existing treatments. The complex offers space for orthopedic procedures, plastic surgery, and ENT, allowing more patients to be treated more quickly.
The sustainably built complex is flexibly designed for various surgical classes and includes, in addition to operating rooms, a recovery room, changing rooms, and offices. Medexs completed the construction project within nine months. The biggest structural challenge was creating a new staircase between floors, for which a steel structure was installed to support the existing floor.
