Opragon

Temperature controlled AirFlow

The Opragon system is a temperature-controlled ventilation system. In the centre of the operating room, colder air is blown in by means of a UDAF plenum. In addition to the UDAF plenum, air showers are evenly distributed throughout the periphery, bringing warmer air into the room.

Medexs exclusive distributor

The temperature difference between the centre UDAF plenum and the peripheral air showers should be > 2 degrees Celsius. The environment is kept at the right temperature by the periphery air showers.

The air introduced in the UDAF plenum above the OR table as well as the air in the periphery is HEPA filtered. The Opragon operating room ventilation system is specifically designed for operating rooms where infection-sensitive procedures may take place.

The manufacturer, Avidicare, guarantees that in the area where surgical procedures take place, there will be no more than <10KVE/m3 at the time of the procedure.

When using special OR clean air suites (special OR clothing), no more than <5 CFU/m3 will be measured in the ultra clean area during the surgical procedure. The ultra clean area is defined as the area where the instrument tables, the wound area and the surgical team are set up. The Opragon system was developed by Swedish company, Avidicare. Medexs serves as the exclusive distributor of this system. To date, several hospitals in Europe and the US are already using the TcAF ventilation system.
